Seafood at DawnA coastal seafood restaurantWest MerseaA family-run restaurant shaped by West Mersea, its working waterfront and the changing tide.

Our journey began in East Mersea in 2019. After four incredible years of growth, we took the exciting step of opening our restaurant in West Mersea.
Seafood at Dawn is, and always has been, built around family. With family and close friends making up much of our team, there's never a shortage of laughter behind the scenes. Together, Leila and Paige have worked tirelessly to create a warm and welcoming restaurant where everyone feels at home, exceptional food is served with pride, and every guest leaves with a full belly and a happy face.
We're passionate about supporting our local community, which is why we work closely with Mersea fishermen to ensure our fish of the day is sustainably caught and as fresh as possible.
By sourcing locally wherever we can, we're proud to showcase the very best produce that our little island has to offer.

If we cannot accept a request, for example because the table is no longer available, no contract for that booking is formed. The booking service does not currently take payment.
To change or cancel a booking, call or email us as soon as possible and quote the booking reference. If you are running late, please let us know. If a party is materially late and we cannot reach you, we may release the table where reasonably necessary to serve other guests.
We may need to change or cancel a booking because of severe weather, safety concerns, supplier failure, staff illness, closure or another event outside our reasonable control. We will give as much notice as reasonably possible and offer a practical alternative where we can.
No deposit or cancellation fee applies to the current online request service. If a future event or group booking requires a deposit, we will explain the amount, cancellation deadline and refund terms clearly before you agree or pay.
Please behave considerately toward staff, other guests, neighbours and property. We may refuse service or ask someone to leave where reasonably necessary for safety, unlawful behaviour, serious disruption, harassment or abuse.
Children must be supervised. If you have an access requirement, contact us before visiting so we can explain the current facilities and make reasonable arrangements where possible. Outdoor seating depends on safe and suitable weather.
